A letter landed on the mat
It was addressed to you
I sat and stared for a while
Figuring what to do
Do people still not know you died?
A rogue computer glitch?
Error in administration?
Doesn’t really matter which
The apologies would be sincere
Of that I have no doubt
“Sorry for inconvenience caused
We’ll quickly sort this out”
So there’s your letter
on my table
Prize draw tickets – we could win!
But calmly after all this time
I just throw it in the bin.
